Recording Food Waste

This guide shows how to record a food waste event on the LabelFood device so it syncs to the cloud dashboard for analytics and compliance reporting.

  1. On the device, tap Waste on the home screen
  1. The last 10 printed labels appear as quick-select options
  2. Tap the product that was wasted
  1. Use the search bar to find the product by name
  2. Tap the product to select it
  1. Quantity — enter the amount wasted (weight in kg or unit count, depending on your settings)
  2. Reason — select the reason the product was wasted from the list configured in your branch
  3. Note (optional) — add a free-text note about the waste event
  4. Photo (optional) — take a photo of the waste for reference
  1. Tap Save
  2. The record syncs to the cloud dashboard immediately (or when connectivity is restored)

In the cloud dashboard, go to Wastage to see:

  • Total waste by day, week, or month
  • Waste by reason — identify the biggest causes
  • Waste by product category
  • Export for EHO inspection reports
  • Food cost reduction — identify patterns and reduce overproduction
  • EHO compliance — Environmental Health Officer (EHO) inspections require waste records
  • Staff accountability — track waste by staff member and device
